Foreigners Strongly Cautioned Against Participating in Any ASEAN Protest Action in Manila

Foreign workers, tourists, and ex-pat’s have been strongly cautioned against participating in any way whatsoever with any “civil action” during the current ASEAN gathering in Manila.

The Philippines Bureau of Immigration has issued Operation Order No. SBM-2015-025, which requires foreigners to “observe the limitation on the exercise of their political rights” during their stay in the country.

The same order states that they are prohibited from joining, supporting, contributing or involving themselves in whatever manner in any rally, assembly or gathering (whether for or against the government) with Government officials stating they will apply the ruling rigorously during the current ASEAN week in Manila.
